Thaw: a mindfulness exercise in softening (week 10)

Thaw: a mindfulness exercise in softening (week 10)

Thaw is this week’s urban bathing card. Its guiding theme is softening. The practice is meant to stay simple: a few quiet minutes, one clear observation, and a little room to remain with what is already present around you.

Week 10 — Thaw

Theme: Softening

Prompt:
Step outside and look for signs of thaw: small puddles, darkening bark, the quiet sheen of wet earth.

Reflections:

  • Where in my life can I safely soften a little?
  • What changes when I allow this moment to be exactly as it is, without holding on or resisting?

How to approach this practice

You do not need to add much more to this card than what it already suggests. A few minutes, a little presence, and a willingness to return to it later in the week are enough if you want to see whether it lands differently the second time.
